This is probably the most serene piece I've done to date. It was just a simple idea floating in my head, with the sunflowers being the most complicated part of it. I drew them all out, did a watercolor wash of yellow over top... and erased practically every single one. I usually work in copic marker but had decided to try something different. Nothing to do but redraw them all and this time with even more detail since a majority of the color was in place. It was really their centers, the seed heads, that took the longest with all the texture. But I really love them. They are what gives the piece it's warmth. I wanted the girl's "wings" to look like light and to give her a glow. I didn't have a reference for the girl as I was drawing, but was picturing in my head what someone looks like when they're jumping on a trampoline. I had originally planned on adding clouds, but decided they would detract from the rainbow sky and left them out, which I actually think gives it more of an ethereal look.
