I wanted something different from the typical Batman brooding on a gothic stone gargoyle overlooking the city, but still wanted a lot of those elements. I knew I wanted his logo front and center, but not necessarily the Batman himself. Thinking along those lines, I started considering the Bat Signal and all the possibilities... and decided to hint at the idea of a fight on the roof of the Gotham PD.
